What is the "Kraszewski. Computers for Libraries" program about?
The program, announced by the Book Institute (Instytut Książki), offers public libraries and local government cultural institutions the opportunity to obtain funding ranging from PLN 10,000 to PLN 30,000, which can be allocated toward the purchase of computers, software, and peripheral devices.
The objective of the program is to ensure equal access to information and communications technology (ICT) and to level the playing field for residents of municipalities with the lowest tax revenues by equipping libraries with modern hardware.
Thanks to this financial support, libraries can modernize their resources and provide users with fast, secure, and convenient access to modern technologies.

- Funding level: up to 85% of total project costs
- Own contribution: only 15%

Who Can Benefit from the Funding?
Eligible beneficiaries are local government public libraries as well as cultural institutions that include public libraries, operating within rural, urban-rural, or urban municipalities (gminy).
Libraries and institutions that have previously benefited from the "Kraszewski. Computers for Libraries" program between 2022 and 2024 are excluded from receiving support. Entities that received funding for similar tasks under the National Programme for the Development of Reading 2.0 (Priority 2 – Library Infrastructure 2021–2025) are also ineligible to apply.
Additionally, applicants previously funded by other programs implemented by state cultural institutions, the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage (MKiDN), or multi-year programs established by the Council of Ministers and implemented by institutions subordinate to the MKiDN are excluded.
How to register your library for the program?
Libraries interested in participating must remember that the deadline for submitting applications is September 5, 2025 — documents submitted after this date will no longer be accepted.
For an application to be valid, a complete set of required documents along with a cost estimate must be prepared and submitted via the application generator on the Book Institute's website. The completed application can then be submitted in one of two forms:
- paper format – printed, stamped, and signed;
- electronic format – sent via ePUAP or the E-Delivery mailbox (E-Doręczenia), using a qualified electronic signature or a trusted profile (Profil Zaufany).
Evaluation criteria and priorities
Applications will be evaluated based on the financial prosperity indicator of the municipality (the so-called G-indicator). Facilities with a lower indicator will achieve a higher position in the ranking, which automatically increases their chances of receiving support. Funding is awarded according to the order on the ranking list — until the program budget is exhausted.
